Downed Tree Takes Out Power Lines In Rocky Hill

A felled tree led to a mess at a busy intersection in Rocky Hill over the weekend.

ROCKY HILL, CT — A tree that fell onto power lines in the area of Old Main Street and Parsonage Street Sunday morning wreaked havoc in some busy areas of town, police said.

Power outages were scattered in the area, the traffic lights at Silas Deane Highway and Elm Street.

Old Main Street from Church Street to Parsonage Street was closed to traffic until 1 p.m. while the tree was removed and repairs were made to the power lines, police said. Power was restored at about 1 p.m., police said.
