Easter Entertaining
Easter is one of my favorite holidays. I think because the weather is normally nice and everyone loves to dress up. Even thought my kids are grown I still have Easter baskets for them in the morning and plan a great dinner. Of course watching my grand daughters excitement for her basket and helping me cook, setting the table and of course dressing up for the Easter egg hunt!
We normally have company from family to friends and I host more of an “open house” than a more formal sit down dinner. Below are some of my Easter Entertaining tipsbut you can use these for any event or holiday gathering!

Here are some of my tips!
- Never send the kids to greet guests at the door. You or your spouse should be the first to welcome your guests. Also, don’t go running like you just finished working out or putting last minute stuff away. That will give an impression that you are not ready for them. The first impression will set the tone for the entire visit!
- Set your table with the season. Fresh flowers, seasonal fruit, painted eggs, etc. Keep it simple!
- I like to serve warm plates with my holiday dinners. Set the oven to 100 degrees and place your plates in their 30 minutes to 1 hour before serving dinner.
- Have ice in a bucket near the drinks. Guests really do not like going into your freezer.
- I have seen this so many times! Set out a clean butter dish!!
- If you are serving a formal dinner then decided in advance where everyone will be sitting. Even if you announce as everyone is sitting or set out table tags! If they are for Easter you can tie a ribbon around a decorated egg with a name tag. It will be a conversation piece and everyone will sit without thinking about the reasoning behind the seating. One year I made homemade chocolates for each guests.
- Relax, Smile and Enjoy…..
