Giovanni 'John' Passacantando, 58; Owner of The Public Market; Rocky Hill Resident
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Aug. 30 with the funeral Mass scheduled for Monday, Aug. 31.

Giovanni “John” Passacantando, 58, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Rocky Hill on Wednesday August 26, 2015.
John was predeceased by his father Ferdinando Passacantando.

John is survived by Maria Boscarino Passacantando, his beautiful beloved wife of 32 years. In addition to Maria, his memory will be cherished forever by his children Ferdinando “Johnnie” Passacantando of Middletown,CT and Amelia Passacantando of Rocky Hill ; his mother Amelia Passacantando whom John adored, and his younger brother Mario Passacantando and nephew Nicholas Passacantando all of Hartford. John leaves behind an extended family who will love and miss him forever: brother and sister in law Sebastiano and Sebastiana Bartolotta of Portland, Sebastian and Nancy Boscarino of Middletown, Joseph and Josie Boscarino of Cromwell, John and Lucia Martucci of Colchester. John’s memory will be cherished and he will live on in the hearts of all his nieces and nephews. John will also be greatly missed by his aunt and uncles and his many cousins and friends in the U.S., Canada and Italy.
John was born in L’Aquila, Italy on July 24 1957 and moved with his family to Hartford Connecticut in 1970. John attended Buckley high.John was blessed with an entrepreneurial spirit and incredible work ethic which led to his becoming the proud owner of the The Public Market in Middletown Ct in 1989. Over the years, the Public Market allowed John to reach so many in the community through his kind heart, generosity, and goodwill for others. John will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday 12:30 p.m. directly in St Sebastian Church, Middletown. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to the Giuliano- Sagarino Funeral Home at BROOKLAWN 511 Brook St. Rocky Hill, Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to either Middletown Police Benevolent Fund, 222 Main St. Middletown or Middletown Professional Firefighters Local 1073, 533 Main St. Middletown, CT 06457.
