Hour By Hour: On Our Way To 90 Degrees In Rocky Hill

Besides the heat and humidity, we'll also be dealing with a chance of severe weather later this afternoon.

The National Weather Service has issued a “Hazardous Weather Outlook” for the chance of severe weather in Hartford and Tolland counties.

But in its latest advisory, the NWS writes there is only a “low risk for an isolated strong thunderstorm” this afternoon and early evening.

Likely, the biggest issue today, will be dealing with the area’s first official heat wave of the season.

By early afternoon temps are expected to reach 90 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. It will be a bit cooler on Friday with temps in the upper 80s, and for the next few days, temps will be in the low to mid 80s.

Today: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 90. Southwest wind 10 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 63. West wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 85. Calm wind becoming south 5 to 9 mph in the afternoon.

Friday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2am. Patchy fog after 5am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 67. South wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Saturday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 4pm. Patchy fog before 8am. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 83. Southwest wind around 7 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 60.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 81.

Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 59.
