IDs Released Of 2 People Killed In Motor Vehicle Accident On I-91 In Rocky Hill: State Police
The accident shut down a portion of the highway for four hours. State Police are still investigating.

ROCKY HILL, CT — Two Middletown residents were killed after their vehicle was involved in a serious motor vehicle accident on Interstate 91 in Rocky Hill late Friday, State Police said.
State Police said Jose Diana, 25, and Mark Nunez, 21, both of Maplewood Terrace in Middletown, died as a result of the accident, which occurred at 10:34 p.m. Friday.
State Police said a tractor trailer was stopped in heavy traffic on I-91 southbound in the left center lane by Exit 24 and Diana and Nunez were traveling directly behind the tractor trailer in a Volkswagen Golf. Witnesses said the Golf was traveling at a high rate of speed when it hit the tractor trailer from behind causing it to spin out of control, and it was stopped in the right shoulder of the roadway, State Police said.
A passenger in the tractor trailer was hospitalized with minor injuries but Diana and Nunez, who were in the Golf, were pronounced dead that the scene.
