Hale Hill Tree Farm, of Portland, will host its 10th annual Christmas Tree Charity Day on Saturday, December 13th, with all proceeds going to Operation Fuel, a statewide energy assistance program.

Pre-cut and cut-your-own Christmas trees will be available for a suggested donation of $50. The holiday-themed event, which runs from noon to 5 p.m., also will feature food, hot drinks, live music, a silent auction and a bonfire. Over the past nine years, the tree farm’s annual charity day has raised more than $40,000 for area non-profit organizations.

We also are committed to giving back to our community. Our annual charity day is one way we can assist people in our community whose challenges are greater than ours.”

“We are extremely grateful to Hale Hill Tree Farm for choosing Operation Fuel as its beneficiary. We are expecting the need for energy assistance to exceed the funding that is available for our winter program. And this donation will be a great help to us,” said Patricia Wrice, Operation Fuel’s Executive Director.

Operation Fuel is a private, nonprofit program that provides emergency energy assistance through its statewide network of fuel banks to lower-income working families, the elderly and disabled individuals who are in financial crisis and not eligible for energy assistance from government-funded programs.
