Lost Rocky Hill Dog Located 40 Miles Away

A Rocky Hill dog that was lost has been found 40-plus miles away, police said.

ROCKY HILL, CT — A lost dog featured on posters all over Rocky Hill has been found 40 miles from his home, police said.

"Great news ... Boomer, the missing dog pictured on the posters around town, has been found," Rocky Hill police said in a Facebook post.

Boomer escaped from his Rocky Hill home on July 16, police said.

After four months and "lots of effort," he was discovered more than 40 miles away in Branford, where he was rescued by CT Dog Gone Recovery and Branford Animal Control staffers, police said.

Boomer has since been reunited with his owner, a long time Rocky Hill resident, police said.
