Lottery Officials Reveal $1 Million Super Draw Winner

He had been stuck with a truck that only went in reverse but now has a reversal of fortune.

ROCKY HILL, CT — Connectiocut Lottery officials on Tuesday said a Bridgeport man has won the CT Super Draw $1 million prize and plans plans to order pizza with "everything on it."

David Sanchez told lottery officials he had no idea that a simple gift would result in a million bucks. He received a Super Draw ticket from one of his employees as a holiday gift.

Sanchez’s ticket number – 193232 – proved to be an exact match to the Jan. 1, 2018, $1 million top prize winning ticket, officials said.

“We found out the ticket was a winner on January third, and had kept it on our fridge,” Sanchez said with a chuckle. “It took us a couple minutes to check it out.”

Sanchez’s wife called their son for an extra set of eyes.

“We woke up our son—to come check the ticket,” Sanchez said. “I think we won the million dollar drawing.”

Sanchez said the huge win comes at a great time.

“My truck died last week, I mean it can still drive in reverse,” he laughed. “We don’t really splurge—we’re just going to pay off some bills.”

Sanchez said he plans to celebrate and splurge a little.

“I’ll get a pizza with everything on it ... Extra toppings,” he said with a laugh.

Sanchez’s winning CT Super Draw ticket was purchased at Snaxx Plus, located at 336 Ferry Boulevard in Stratford.

The $1,000,000 top prize winning ticket holder for the January 16, 2018 drawing, still has plenty of time to come claim a prize. For a full list of winning ticket numbers from both drawings, visit CTLOTTERY.ORG.
