Maryann (Palaia) Carpenter: After Retiring from the State of Connecticut, She Devoted Her Time to Her Grandchildren
The Rocky Hill resident passed away Sept. 23 at age 86.

Maryann (Palaia) Carpenter, 86 of Rocky Hill, CT, beloved wife of the late Henry Carpenter passed away peacefully on September 23, 2015 surrounded by loved ones.
After retiring from the State of Connecticut, Maryann devoted most of her time to her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Joan Carpenter, Deborah Strange (Robert), Donna Kelly (Martin), Henry Carpenter (Marie), Maryann Simonetti (Ciro), and her grandchildren, Anthony Anzellotti, Jeremy Strange (Tera), Benjamin Strange, Mary Carpenter, Drew Carpenter, Suzanne Carpenter, Grace Kelly, Marissa Simonetti, Brianna Simonetti and Matthew Simonetti, her brother Samuel Palaio and many nieces and nephews.
She is also predeceased by her beloved daughter, Nancy and sisters, Josephine, Theresa and Jeanette.

She will be missed by everyone.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday at 10 AM in St. James Church, Elm Street, Rocky Hill. Internment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to the Giuliano-Sagarino Funeral Home at Brooklawn, 511 Brook St., on Friday from 6 to 8 PM.
At Mom’s request, in lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory may be made to any charity that helps children.
