Mega Millions Jackpot Surpasses $500 Million
Friday's Lottery Mega Millions drawing has the fourth highest jackpot of all time.

ROCKY HILL, CT — An estimated $502 million Mega Millions jackpot, with a cash lump sum option of $301.5 million, is up for grabs on Friday.
Connecticut Lottery officials announced the jackpot on Wednesday.
As consumers have the opportunity to purchase tickets for the Mega Millions jackpot, CT Lottery officials were urging perspective.

“When jackpots reach hundreds of millions of dollars, we encourage people to use their game sense, or common sense, when playing,” CT Lottery’s Interim President and CEO, Chelsea Turner said. “It is important for consumers to use good judgement and to remember to play for fun, not to make money and know when to take breaks and know the odds. It only takes one ticket to win.”
Friday’s drawing is the 4th largest Mega Millions jackpot in the game’s history. The largest Mega Millions jackpot was $656 million on March 30, 2012.

The overall odds of winning a Mega Millions prize are 1 in 24.0, lottery officials said. The ddds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 302,575,350 million.
