Orthopedic Associates of Hartford (OAH)celebrated the grand opening of its new surgical center with an official ribbon cutting ceremony in partnership with the Rocky Hill Chamber of Commerce on Friday, February 22nd. The distinguished crowd of over 150 guests and local business and political leaders included State Senator Matthew Lesser, Rocky Hill’s Deputy Mayor, and Town Council member Edward Charamut.

Tom Delnicki, State Representative for the 14th district, presented an official citation to commemorate the auspicious opening of the $30 million 48,000 square foot facility that is truly unparalleled in the Northeast.

The evening kicked off with an art dedication for the stunning metal wall sculpture created by local artist Kim Zimmermann that graces the wall in the center’s main lobby. Tim Taylor, CEO of OAH, shared the history behind the OAH’s commitment to outpatient surgical centers. Then OAH partners and lead project managers Dr. Pietro A. Memmo and Dr. Andrew Caputo welcomed guests to the sustainable, state-of-the-art facility that was designed around a threefold goal – a place where patients would want to come, doctors would want to operate, and staff would want to work.

Following the ribbon cutting ceremony, invited attendees enjoyed refreshments as they toured the Center of Excellence boasting the latest technology, most advanced sanitation systems, robotic tools, plus a full-service physical therapy center on the lower level. OAH surgeons will perform shoulder, knee, and hip replacements, spine surgery, shoulder and knee arthroscopy, hand, wrist, elbow, foot and ankle surgery, and interventional pain procedures to relieve pain and restore function.

The spectacular center located at 150 Enterprise Drive in Rocky Hill offers all of the services of a hospital without the overnight stay.

"We are proud to lead the way in transitioning orthopedic surgical procedures to outpatient venues, making care more cost effective for patients, with much lower infection rates, higher patient satisfaction, and superior outcomes,” said Dr. Memmo.
