Odor Prompts Temporary Shelter-In-Place Order At Rocky Hill Residential Building: FD
Fire department officials ventilated the building on Cold Spring Road.
ROCKY HILL, CT — A report of a natural gas odor at a multi-story residential complex prompted a temporary shelter-in-place order Wednesday afternoon.
Fire Chief Michael P. Garrahy said the department was dispatched to the complex, at 100 Cold Spring Rd., around 4:13 p.m.
Responding firefighters noticed a strong chemical odor within the building. After investigating, they determined it was coming from a highly concentrated vinegar-based cleaning solution being used inside the complex, according to Garrahy.
