RHPD Marine Unit at Work on Connecticut River

The Rocky Hill Police Marine Unit has partnered with the United States Coast Guard to patrol the local stretch of the Connecticut River.

ROCKY HILL, CT — The Rocky Hill Police Marine Unit has partnered with the United States Coast Guard to patrol the local stretch of the Connecticut River.

Last Wednesday, a RHPD Officer was aboard a USCG vessel conducting evening safety checks.

Most of the vessels were compliant, police said.

Several boats, however, had minor violations like not having a fire extinguisher, a throwable flotation device, or a sound-making device like a whistle on board.

Authorities removed one impaired operator from the water, police said.
