Rocky Hill Driver Injured in Wrong-Way Crash on I-84

State police are investigating a wrong-way, head-on highway crash.

MANCHESTER, CT — A driver traveling the wrong way on Interstate-84 crashed into another vehicle head-on early Monday morning.

State police said the crash took place at 3:37 a.m. near Exit 62.

A 2015 Toyota Camry driven by Karen Steele, 29, of Rocky Hill, was heading westbound in the eastbound lanes and slammed into a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by 55-year-old Jason Klock of Vernon. Klock was heading east in the left lane, state police said.

Both cars caught on fire and both drivers were pulled from their vehicles by other drivers and state police, according to a crash report.

They were brought to Hartford Hospital with possible life-threatening injuries, according to a report.

State police said Monday night the crash was still under investigation.
