Rocky Hill Fire Department Response to Structure Fire
Rocky Hill Fire Department, Friday, December 22, 2017
FRIDAY, DECEMBER 22, 2017
At 6:50pm, the Rocky Hill Fire Department responded to the report of a structure fire. Upon arrival, the first responding unit encountered a large shed approximately 16’ x 32’ in flames. The shed was located at the rear of the property and it was assessed that there was no concern related to the fire spreading to any adjacent homes. The fire was brought under control within 30 minutes. There were no injuries to either civilians or fire personnel. The Rocky Hill fire marshal is currently investigating.
Due to the nature of the fire, a large number of fire apparatus were deployed as well as the Fire Police. Also, with the weather as cold as it was, the Firefighters had to be extra cautious as the water covered the streets, sidewalks, and driveways with ice. That coupled with the darkness, added to the many challenges encountered.
