Rocky Hill Girls Vault Into Top 10 of Soccer Poll

The Terriers posted eight wins and a tie in their first 10 outings this season, outscoring opponents by a 28-6 margin.

A string of 10 consecutive shutouts to begin the season has propelled the Suffield High School girls soccer team into the top ranking in Classes LL-L in the latest weekly Connecticut Girls Soccer Coaches Association poll.

The Wildcats garnered the top spot on four of five ballots to move up from last week's number two ranking, displacing St. Joseph (9-1-1), which received the other first-place vote. Suffield has outscored its opponents 53-0 thus far this season.

Rocky Hill (8-1-1) cracked the top 10, placing ninth in the most recent M-S balloting. The Terriers have outscored opponents by a 28-6 margin this season.

Old Lyme (10-0) gathered five first-place nods out of six ballots cast in Classes M-S. Immaculate (11-1), ranked second, received the other top vote in the division.
