Homeowner Attacked Confronting Car Thieves In Rocky Hill, Video Shows

A man was hospitalized after he confronted thieves attempting to steal his car. Police released graphic video of the assault.

ROCKY HILL, CT — Police released a graphic video that shows a homeowner being attacked by a group of men who were caught breaking into his vehicle. The man was hospitalized as a result of the injuries he sustained.

Police said the incident occurred at a Valley View Drive residence at 7 p.m. Monday.

"The incident was recorded on the homeowner’s surveillance camera. The surveillance video is being released in an attempt to identify the suspects. The depiction of the video and its audio may be upsetting or disturbing to some viewers," police cautioned. (The video can be viewed below).

Police said the homeowner approached a suspect who was inside his vehicle and a "physical altercation" ensued. Three more people joined in the altercation and began to "assault the victim," police said. The four suspects left in a dark blue or black 4-door Mercedes sedan.

The suspects wore masks in an attempt to conceal their identities, police said. The victim was taken to a hospital.
