
Joan (Hall) Roy, 83, passed away at her home on Wednesday, August 9, 2017.
Born July 1, 1934 in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Charlotte Hall and was a Rocky Hill resident for 57 years, devoting her life to her family and home. She was a children’s clothing department manager, working at Arthur’s Children’s Clothing store in West Farms Mall for 10 years. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and visiting her family in North Carolina. Her passion for cooking and gardening brought her great joy.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Gerard (Gerry) Roy and son, Chris Roy, brother, Robert Hall, son-in-law Jeff Meier and brother-in-law, Charles (Nick) Hosig. She is survived by her son and loving caregiver, Mark Roy and their loving collie, Buddy, daughter, Wendy Meier, sister, Anna Lynne (Hall) Hosig, grandsons, Matthew Rhines, Thomas Rhines and Jason Roy, a great grandchild and many nephews and nieces.

Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, August 14th at Rose Hill Funeral Home in Rocky Hill. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 15th, officiated by Reverend Jonathan Colgrove, followed by Christian burial at Rose Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery.
