Rocky Hill Obituary: Joseph Szymkowicz, Jr., 60

Joseph Edwin Szymkowicz, Jr., 60, of Rocky Hill, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, September 29, 2017.

Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late Joseph and Eunice (Currier) Szymkowicz. Joe loved fishing and was an avid Patriots and Red Sox fan. He was proud of being a Golden Glove Champion. He loved spending winters in Florida with his mother. He was blessed with two beautiful daughters and two grandchildren whom he loved and adored very much.

Joe leaves behind his daughters, Kristen Szymkowicz and Michelle Champagne, grandchildren, Emma and Logan, his brother, Stan Szymkowicz and wife Rose, four sisters, Lorraine Szymkowicz O’Brien and husband Gary, twin sister Joyce D’Angelo and husband Fran, Cheryl DeFurio and husband Lou, and Susan Szymkowicz Lamarre. He also leaves several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 4, at 11:00am at the Rose Hill Funeral Home, 580 Elm St., Rocky Hill. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park. Calling hours will be Tuesday, from 5-7pm.
