
Licia (Acquafondata) Ciogli, 74, of Rocky Hill, beloved wife for 53 years of Gabriele Ciogli, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital.
Born on July 19, 1943 in San Pietro Avellana, province of Isernia, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Luigi and Domenica (Colaizzi) Acquafondata. Prior to her retirement, Licia was employed for 35 years at the Wiremold Company. She enjoyed traveling and cooking for her family. She was a longtime active member of the Mt. Carmel-St. Cristina Society and the Order of Sons of Italy.
A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she will be forever missed by her devoted husband Gabriele; two children, Lucio Ciogli and Maria Posteraro and husband Anthony Posteraro and the love of her life, her granddaughter, Alessandra. She is also survived by her sister, Angiolina DiFlorio in Italy; her nieces, Angela Mezzanotte and Joanne Fappiano; nephew, Paul Flebeau and others in Italy, as well as her cousins, Robert and Richard Morgano along with many extended family members and friends. She was predeceased by her sister, Giovanna Mezzanotte.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday (July 29) at 10 a.m. at Saint Josephine Bakhita Parish at St. James Church, 767 Elm Street, Rocky Hill. Everyone is asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. There are no calling hours.
