
Margaret H. "Peggy" (Campbell) Pew, 96, of Rocky Hill, formerly of Newington, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 13, 2016. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter S. Pew.
Born in Hartford, daughter of the late Hugh and Helen (O'Brien) Campbell, she spent most of her life in Newington. Peggy was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Mary's Church and its Ladies Guild. She was employed by the State of CT, DMR, for many years until her retirement. After retiring, she enjoyed art classes, learning to oil paint and was an avid reader. She loved spending summers at cottages on the shore with her family and hosting family events, especially Christmas Eve. She also loved dogs and cats, and all of the many family pets.
A loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she leaves her four children, Jan Sinatra and her husband Steve of Essex, Ellen Proxee and her husband Tom of Bristol, Richard Stevenson of Colchester and Elizabeth Kapij of Wethersfield, eight grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and four step-great grandchildren. She also leaves her two nieces, Victoria Pandiscio and her husband Kurt and Virginia Calnen and her husband Thomas all of North Granby. She was predeceased by all of her eight siblings.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, May 17th, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Church of the Incarnation, Wethersfield. She will be laid to rest in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
