
Paul Anthony Scata, 74, of Rocky Hill, beloved husband for 54 years of Carmela (Santoro) Scata, passed away Monday (January 16, 2017) at Hartford Hospital.
He was born in Italy, the son of the late Corrado and Antonina Scata. Paul played soccer for the Italian American Star. He worked as a mason for Lombardo Brothers and was an active member of St. James Church.
Besides his wife Carmela, Paul leaves behind a son, Corrado "Dino" Scata and his wife Georgene of Rocky Hill; a daughter, Antonina "Toni" Scata of Newington; a brother Salvatore Scata and wife Rosetta of Wethersfield; a sister, Marinella Scata-Tirillo of Rocky Hill; a brother-in-law, Nat Santoro of Eastham, MA. He also leaves his two beloved granddaughters Antonina Lee Scata and Alexiana Carmela Scata both of Rocky Hill, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Ceaser Tirillo.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday (January 21, 2017) at 11 AM in St. James Church, Rocky Hill. Family and friends are invited to call Saturday from 9:15 to 10:15 AM at the Rose Hill Funeral Home 580 Elm St. Rocky Hill, just prior to departing for church. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill.
