Rocky Hill Obituary: Rosa DiPaola, 87

Rosa (Amenta) DiPaola, 87, beloved wife for 62 years of the late Giuseppe DiPaola, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2017 at Hartford Hospital, surrounded by her family.

Rosa was born on March 1, 1930 in Floridia, Siracusa, Sicily. She was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Salvatrice Amenta. Rosa was a faithful and loving wife and a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She had an adventurous spirit that made a lasting impact on all who knew her. Rosa lived a full life focused on everyone other than herself.

She will be missed by her beloved children, her sons, Pippo “Joe” and Kelly DiPaola of Rocky Hill, Pasquale and Maria DiPaola of Wethersfield, Salvatore and Silvia DiPaola of Floridia, Sicily, Giovanni DiPaola of New Britian, Marcello and Loredana DiPaola of Newington, her daughters, Maria and Santino D’Ambrogio of Cromwell and Donatella DiPaola-Forbes of West Hartford. In addition she leaves her cherished 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren who will miss their Nonna very much. Rosa also leaves her sister-in-law Sebastiana Giuliano of Wethersfield along with many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will begin on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at 10 a.m. from the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Josephine Bakhita Parish (St. James Church), 767 Elm Street, Rocky Hill. Entombment will be held in Floridia, Sicily. Rosa’s children will accompany her on her final journey where she will be safely reunited with her beloved husband Giuseppe. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
