Rocky Hill Obituary: William Strickland, 61

William J. Strickland, 61 of Rocky Hill, passed away Monday May 30, 2016 at home.

He was born in Detroit MI on January 5, 1955, son of the late Ernest W and Mary (Scorof) Strickland. He was raised in Saverna Park, MD and moved to the Hartford area 30 years ago. He was a chef in numerous places, the last at the Alpha Delta Phi fraternity of Trinity College. Bill enjoyed watching golf and car races and traveling, especially to tropical places. He was also a big Detroit Tigers fan.

Bill will be greatly missed by his longtime companion, Kathy Stevens, his brothers, Rudy Strickland and his wife Nancy of MD and Randy Strickland and his wife Kathy of SC as well as his two cats, Popolo Popoki and Ebony.

A Memorial Service celebrating Bill’s life will be held Friday June 10, 2016 at 10:00 am in the First Church of Christ, 250 Main St. Wethersfield. Burial will follow in Village Cemetery, Marsh St. Wethersfield.
