Rocky Hill Police Department's 'Voice of Saturday Night' Honored

He retired over the weekend after nearly 50 years of service.

ROCKY HILL, CT — Police Dispatcher Ken Getek retired on Saturday after 48 years of service to the town of Rocky Hill.

Police said Getek began his service as a supernumerary officer and finished his time as a Dispatcher.

He became "the voice of the Saturday night/evening shift and will always be remembered fondly," police said.

Surrounded by his family, Getek was honored in ceremony Saturday, police said.
