Rocky Hill P&Z OKs Six-Month Building Moratorium

The moratorium is on multifamily housing proposals and is set to last up to six months.

The Rocky Hill Planning and Zoning Commission approved a six-month moratorium on multifamily housing proposals.

The moratorium can last up to six month and was designed to give commissioners some time to consider standards on permits within mixed-use developments, according to the Hartford Courant.

The new owner of the former Ames Corp. headquarters objected. Attorney Thomas Regan, who represents developer MR Rocky LLC. asked the commission not to impose the moratorium because it could delay the redevelopment of the Ames property near the center of town.
