The abrupt closing of the Alfred Angelo store in Manchester's Buckland Hills shopping district on Friday left a bunch of angry brides and bridal party members without the dresses they ordered. The store is located at the Plaza at Buckland Hills.
Signs were on the Alfred Angelo windows directing customers to certain phone numbers and web addresses. Staffers were inside but would not come out to answer any questions.

At the close of business on Thursday, lawyers for Alfred Angelo released a letter indicating that the national retailer planned to liquidate its business under federal bankruptcy laws.
The chain has 60 stores in the United States.
Mariella Garofalo-Perna, the owner of Mariella's, said she has made similar offers in the past when other stores have gone belly-up.
"We've been in business for 45 years and we feel the weeding is one of the most important days in people's lives," she said. "And to have that happen so quickly is awful. Thus is a way to team up with a great designed to honor the day, respect the day."
