Rocky Hill volunteer needed immediately!

To pick up food items from the Big Y at 1030 W.Elm Street in Rocky Hill

Volunteer needed immediately!

Can you help? St. Vincent DePaul needs a volunteer to pick up food items from the Big Y at 1030 W.Elm Street in Rocky Hill on Mondays between 9-10 a.m. and drive them to the Soup Kitchen, 617 Main St., Middletown. The items will already be set aside for you by the store. Please contact Lydia Brewster, 860-344-0097 x 18 for more details and orientation.

Also with your group’s help, Sunday breakfasts will be served at St. Vincent de Paul’s Soup Kitchen all fall and winter long.

Organizers are looking for groups to provide a Sunday breakfast about once a month at the Soup Kitchen from 7 a.m.to 9 a.m. All you need is a small team, your own breakfast foods to bring in, prepare and serve (eggs, coffee, juice, toast) and paper goods. Someone who knows the ropes can come in and help you if you’d like assistance on your group’s day. St. Pius X Church and First Congregational Church have committed to a number of dates, but there are still gaps. Please contact Brian Rarey 860-573-4862 for more information and to reserve your group’s date.
