Rocky Hill Wins Big, Earns Berth in Football Championship Game
The Terriers will take on Ansonia in the Class S title matchup Saturday.
ROCKY HILL, CT — A dominating ground game propelled Rocky Hill into its first-ever state championship football appearance, as the Terriers crushed Seymour, 42-7 in a Class S football semifinal matchup Monday night.
Joe Catania rushed for 223 yards and two touchdowns, while Grant Nieves gained 178 yards and scored three times. The Terriers accumulated 437 rushing yards as a team.
Fourth-seeded Rocky Hill (11-1) will face No. 2 Ansonia (12-0) Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Willow Brook Park in New Britain. Ansonia holds the state record with 19 championships.
