Rose Ann Morton, 85; Avid Golfer, Tennis Player Who Lived in Rocky Hill

A celebration of her life is planned.

Rose Ann (Reilly) Morton, 85, of Rocky Hill, formerly of Oldsmar, FL, beloved wife of the late Byron M. Morton, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on August 21, 2015.

Born in Hartford on August 13, 1930 she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Rhea (Carroll) Reilly.

Rose Ann was an avid golfer, taught by her father at a young age and never had a professional lesson. She also enjoyed playing tennis and was a fan of Roger Federer.

Tap dancing and having the honor of being a Red Hat Society Chapter Queen were also some of her passions. Rose Ann was an animal lover and Eddie, her Maltese Shih Tzu, was her latest animal love. Traveling to Hilton Head SC, Cape Cod, Kennebunkport ME, Bermuda and Saratoga for the races were just some of her favorite destinations.

Rose Ann is survived by her former husband, Jerome E. Casey; their daughter, Cathleen (Casey) Suglia and her husband Louis of Tampa, FL along with her two grandsons, Christian and Gregg. Rose Ann also leaves Byron’s children and their families, Garry and Mary Morton, Sherry and Peter McMullen and Karen Massie and Patti Christiana, as well as her sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Bill Cushing, and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends and caregivers.

Rose Ann was predeceased by her brother, Ned O’Reilly and her sister, Rhea Grant.

A celebration of Rose Ann’s life will be held at a later date. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
