Rocky Hill School 'Safe' After Bomb Threat: RHPD: UPDATE
Students and staff had been ordered out of the building as police investigated, but they have since returned to their classrooms.
ROCKY HILL, CT — The Rocky Hill Police Department Monday is investigating a reported bomb threat at Griswold Middle School that initially prompted a school evacuation, but pupils have, since, returned to class.
According to the RHPD, the "credibility of the threat appears low," but the person deemed responsible for the threat has been detained.
The Hartford Courant is reporting a suspect was detained and charged at Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks as part of the probe.

Police said at 10:24 a.m. Monday morning they were at the school and, as a precaution, students and faculty there have been evacuated.
"The RHPD, along with other law enforcement agencies, are on-site conducting a thorough investigation to ensure the safety of everyone involved," the RHPD said in a statement.

"We are in close coordination with the school district to ensure parents remain informed while keeping the safety and security of our community our utmost priority."
Later in the morning, at about 11:42 a.m., the RHPD gave an "all clear" regarding the school and deemed the site "safe."
Police said they utilized a bomb-sniffing dog during a sweep of the site.
According to police, students have returned to class, but police will remain on-site and at other schools "for the immediate future."
