Snow Covered Fire Hydrants
Help the Rocky Hill Fire Department do their job, by doing your part

The Rocky Hill Fire Department is putting out a call to ask some good neighbors to clear the snow away from fire hydrants. When the snow emergency ends, we asking all residents and business owners to clear a path from the hydrant to the street and a 3-foot perimeter around the hydrant and remove ice and snow.
In the event of a fire, Firefighters have to first locate and shovel out buried fire hydrants before hooking up to them. Precious time is lost and lives may be impacted. We are asking that residents and business owners assist us with keeping the fire hydrant, closest to their residence or business, clear of snow.
If you have an elderly neighbor who is unable to open up access to a fire hydrant, be a good neighbor and help them out.

Remember the fire hydrant in front of someone else’s house is there for your protection as well.
Thank you.
