Time Running Out on $1 Million Powerball Ticket

Lottery officials have issued an "an urgent plea" to the person who purchased a $1 million winning Powerball ticket.

ROCKY HILL, CT — Connecticut Lottery Officials on Thursday issued an "an urgent plea" to the person who purchased a $1 million winning Powerball ticket.

The ticket was bought at the Super Stop & Shop located in the Kensington section of Berlin.

It is set to expire on July 5 unless it is claimed by that date. lottery officials said.

The ticket was for the Jan, 6 drawing. It missed the Powerball number — 26 — but matched the first five numbers drawn, 12 - 29 - 30 - 33 - 61.

All draw game tickets expire 180 calendar days from the draw date.

To timely claim the prize, the winner must, on or before July 5, go to a CT Lottery retailer or Lottery Headquarters, where the ticket can be validated. CT Lottery Headquarters will be closed on Wednesday, July 4.
