$124 Million Budget Approved For Shelton: Report

A $124 million operating budget for the 2018-19 fiscal year was approved ​by the Board of Aldermen.

SHELTON, CT — A $124 million operating budget for the 2018-19 fiscal year was unanimously approved by the Board of Aldermen on Tuesday, resulting in another year without a tax increase for Shelton residents, the Connecticut Post reported.

According to the Post, the town's mill rate dropped slightly from 22.21 to 22.15 due to income growth. As a result of the new budget, administrators said the school district won’t be hiring seven new teachers and will eliminate some sports among other cuts.
