2 Teens Accused Of Stealing Elderly Shelton Woman's Purse Arrested: PD
Police said the woman was approached by a vehicle at a Walmart in town when the passenger jumped out, pushed the woman and stole her purse.

SHELTON, CT — Two teens accused of stealing an elderly Shelton woman's purse were arrested Wednesday afternoon, according to police.
In a news release, police said the 73-year-old woman was loading items into her vehicle at a Walmart on Bridgeport Avenue around 3 p.m. when another vehicle approached her. A passenger then exited the vehicle, pushed the woman and stole her purse.
Eyewitnesses and video surveillance footage revealed the vehicle was a Hyundai Tucson, which was later discovered to be stolen, according to police.

After Shelton police communicated with surrounding towns, the vehicle was stopped a short time later by police in New Haven. Police said two 16-year-old New Haven residents were arrested and items from the Shelton woman's purse were found inside the vehicle during their investigation.
The two teens were charged with second-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit second-degree robbery, fourth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit fourth-degree larceny. They were scheduled to appear in juvenile court Thursday, according to police.
