SHELTON-DERBY, CT — Derby's Planning and Zoning Commission will discuss a 45-lot subdivision application, residents affected by flooding can apply for low-interest federal loans and both city halls are closed Monday.

Where: Aldermanic Chambers, Derby City Hall, 1 Elizabeth St.

What to know: The Derby Planning and Zoning Commission will discuss and may act on Summit Hill LLC's application for a 45-lot subdivision, according to a special meeting agenda. More information here.


2. Shelton Planning and Zoning, WPCA Meetings

When: Shelton WPCA Tuesday, Oct. 13, 4:30 p.m.; P&Z Wednesday, Oct. 14 (regularly 6 p.m.)

Where: Auditorium, Shelton City Hall, 54 Hill St.

What to know: Shelton's Water Pollution Control Authority is scheduled to meet Tuesday, the city's Planning and Zoning Commission is scheduled to meet Wednesday and the Parks and Recreation Commission meets Thursday, according to the city calendar. More information here.

5. SBA Loans Available For Sept. 13 Flood Damage

When: Physical damage deadline Dec. 1, 2026; economic injury deadline July 2, 2027

Where: Shelton City Hall, 54 Hill St.

What to know: Homeowners, renters, businesses and nonprofits in Fairfield County, which includes Shelton, and in New Haven County, which includes Derby, can apply for low-interest U.S. Small Business Administration disaster loans after the Sept. 13 flash flooding, according to Gov.
