Lois J. White (Dunphy), 93, of Shelton, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2026 in the arms of loving family

Lois J. White (Dunphy), 93, of Shelton, formerly of Stratford, beloved wife for 61 years of the late Stuart L. White, Jr. passed away peacefully on April 15 in the arms of loving family. Lois was born in Stratford on May 13, 1932, daughter of the late Floyd and Bertha Dunphy, and was a life-long resident of Stratford.

Lois was a dedicated and loving wife, mother and homemaker. Lois had a great love of her family and home. Those who had come to know and love her will miss her warm laugh, smile and friendship. She was a member of the First Congregational Church, Stratford, and was active on various committees prior to her illness.

She is survived by one son, Charles R. White and his wife Patricia, of Milford, two daughters, Deborah Baker and her husband Gene of Goshen and Kimberly Sembiante and her husband David of Bethany; five grandchildren, Gene Baker, Jr (Esther), Jennifer Baker (Brian), Charles R. White, Jr. (Lauren), Sarah White DeChristoforo (Ryan), and Alexandra White Moreno (Jon); four great grandsons, Jackson Charles White, Ronan Tyler White, Brooks Ryan DeChristoforo, Trace Michael Moreno and three great granddaghters Claire Everly DeChristoforo, Riley Jane Wood and Shay Elizabeth Moreno; several nieces, nephews and cousins.Lois is predeceased by her husband Stuart, her parents, sisters Maureen Pavelko and Carol Prach.

Special thanks to caregivers Lynn Swindon, Jeannine Miller and the staff at Wellspring at Brightview Senior Living in Shelton. Brightview was Lois’ home for the last seven years and she was so loved.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 21 at 10:30 a.m. at King’s Highway Cemetery, 271 Cherry Street, Milford, CT.
