SHELTON, CT — As it kicks off its 12th year, Celebrate Shelton announced this week the Food Trucks on the River festival will return to the city later this month.
According to a news release provided by Celebrate Shelton, the popular free event will return for two days of delicious eats at Veterans Memorial Park on May 29 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and May 30 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
A rain date is scheduled for May 31.
"Each year we continue to grow, with increasing attendance and expanded programming," Celebrate Shelton founders Nicole Heriot-Mikula, Michael Skrtic and Jimmy Tickey said in a news release. "We listen and find new ways to connect with our community in the place we all call home."
According to the release, the family-friendly festival features over 30 food trucks each day, as well as live music all weekend, a massive artisan market where guests can shop local and a pop-up bar featuring New Belgium craft brews, Love Lou wines, specialty cocktails and mocktails.
The release also notes "whether it's a Friday night dance party or playing bingo and bringing the whole fam for 18 holes of mini golf on Saturday, Food Trucks on the River has got you covered."

According to the release, each truck will be offering a $5- $7 option so guests can try them all.
The event will feature a wide range of music for guests to enjoy.
"Friday night's Main Stage sponsored by Tuttle Insurance boasts a psych rock swirl of catchy melodies and songwriting with Southern CT’s own, Daze In," the release reads, "followed by musical powerhouses hailing from Hartford with a sound you won’t forget, Roost and rolling in from New Hampshire and headlining the evening is original R&B/Hip-Hop band led by Grammy-nominated artist and producer Thomas (Teeba) Forbes, Harsh. Their four part harmonies combined with contemporary flow will move your body and your heart."
On Saturday, guests can visit the cozy Listening Lounge sponsored by Liberty Bank, where Connecticut's finest singer-songwriters hit the stage all day, including Hitch & The Giddyup Trio, Charlotte Roth ft. Will Earley, Mason Peterson, Riley Cotton, Simone Bilé and Me, Like Many, according to the release.
Celebrate Shelton will also host the city's annual LGBTQ Pride Flag Raising on May 30 at 3 p.m., the release notes.
Other highlights listed in the release include an 18-hole mini golf course and all day family entertainment with Big Boy Entertainment from the main stage, including themed trivia and classic and music bingo.
"With a suggested donation of $5 per person to help support future programming and maintain no-cost events, Food Trucks on the River continues to be a celebration of all things local - food, music, art, and most importantly, community," the release reads.
