Man Found Dead With 'Multiple Gunshot Wounds' In Parking Lot Of Shopping Plaza: Seymour Police

SEYMOUR, CT — A man with "multiple gunshot wounds" was found dead in the parking lot of a Seymour shopping plaza early Wednesday morning, according to the Seymour Police Department.

In a news release posted to Facebook, Police Chief John Bucherati said the department received a report around 1:15 a.m. of a deceased man in the parking lot of the Ideal Plaza on North Street.

When officers arrived at the plaza, they found a man with "multiple gunshot wounds," according to Bucherati.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS personnel, according to Bucherati.

The Connecticut Post reports Bucherati later identified the man as 33-year-old Dean Battaglino.

Detectives from the Seymour Police Department, the Connecticut State Police Major Crime Squad and inspectors from the Milford States Attorney's Office are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, Bucherati said.
