SHELTON, CT — A person was freed from a vehicle after a rollover crash Monday evening on Route 8 in Shelton, according to the Shelton Fire Department.
In a news release posted to Facebook, fire officials said the crash was reported around 7 p.m. on Route 8 south between Exits 9 and 11.
As crews made their way to the area, they received information from Connecticut State Police that a vehicle had rolled over and one person was in need of extrication, fire officials said.
According to fire officials, crews arrived in the area and found the vehicle had come to rest on its drivers side in the median.
Fire officials said two pediatric occupants had self-extricated before crews arrived.
Firefighters partially removed the car's roof and freed the person from the vehicle, fire officials said.
Echo Hose Ambulance staff began patient care and the person was taken to a local trauma facility for evaluation, according to fire officials.
