The rankings draw on extensive data and millions of reviews, and introduce refined categories that help local parents compare schools by academics, arts, diversity, and college preparation options across the state.
   

• Tractor-Trailer Crashes Into Stone Wall In Derby, Driver Extricated: FD (patch.com) — Early Monday, Shelton firefighters joined Derby and Ansonia crews to rescue a tractor-trailer driver who was heavily trapped after crashing into a stone wall on Route 34 in Derby. Shelton's Echo Hose Hook & Ladder Co. 1 helped stabilize the vehicle during a complex 45-minute extrication, after which the driver was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital and the road later reopened.
