Annual Huntington Tree Lighting Ceremony was a Big Hit!

Shelton Mayor, Mark A. Lauretti , was upstaged by Santa himself at the Huntington tree lighting last weekend.

Shelton CT Tree Lighting:

The Annual Tree Lighting ceremony was held on The Huntington Green Sunday, December 3, 2017 at 5 p.m.
RJS Designs LLC (Event Planners and Holiday Decorators) beautifully lit and decorated the green, transforming it into a winter wonderland. RJS Designs has been setting up and hosting this event for over 20 years!

Music Teachers Network LLC provided beautiful holiday music, and caroling. Refreshments were provided through generous donations from the Bridgeport Ave Duncan Donuts (hot chocolate and donuts), and the local Shelton Shoprite (a selection of cookies) and were devoured within the first 20 minutes of the event.

Roger J. Spinelli of RJS Designs opened the ceremony thanking all the people who worked so hard to make it happen, and then Shelton mayor Mark A. Lauretti spoke to the crowd about coming together as a community and sharing in the holiday spirit.

Santa Claus made a grand appearance riding on a Firetruck, guided by the volunteers of Huntington's Fire Company No. 3., and there were lots of opportunities for photos with Santa by the lit tree on the gazebo.

Many other individuals and local organizations came together to make it a memorable event. 25 trees were donated again this year by Jones Tree Farm. Shelton Park and Rec provided workers to assist RJS Designs with the lighting and decorating of those trees, as well as the light posts and gazebo on the green. Members of Shelton's small business "Grow Group" volunteered some people to help on the night.

It was a "can't miss" event in Shelton to kick off the holiday season, and if you missed it last night, u can enjoy the festive green through Christmas and New Years..
