Another Big Y 'Sign' In Derby
If all goes smoothly the supermarket will move into the plaza that formerly housed Walmart.
DERBY, CT — Another sign that Big Y is coming to Derby on New Haven Avenue appeared in the form of literal sign plans. A signage company submitted a rendition for a Big Y sign at the shopping center located at 656 New Haven Ave.
Both Walmart and Adams Supermarket left the plaza last year, according to the New Haven Register. Mayor Anita Dugatto's Republican challenger Richard Dziekan criticized her for not keeping the businesses in town or finding replacements.
Big Y's contract to move into the plaza hasn't been completed.
