Back To School: Shelton & Derby 2021-22 School Calendars

SHELTON & DERBY, CT — Back-to-school planning has already begun in Derby and Shelton, with calendars available to help parents prepare for the first day in Shelton Public Schools and Derby Public Schools.

The first day of school for most students in Derby is Sept. 7; in Shelton, the first day is Sept. 8.

Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change as the coronavirus pandemic nears its year-and-a-half point. A mix of in-person, virtual and hybrid learning is still possible in either community.

Like last year, the COVID-19 policies could change any time before the first day.

Here is the list of dates to know for this school year:

Derby Public Schools

First Day: Sept. 7

Thanksgiving Break: Nov. 25-26 (early dismissal on the 24th)

Winter Break: Dec. 24-31 (early dismissal on the 23rd)

Spring Break: April 11-15

Last Day: June 15 (tentative last day)

Shelton Public Schools

First Day: Sept. 8

Thanksgiving Break: Nov. 25-26 (early dismissal on the 24th)

Winter Break: Dec. 24-31 (early dismissal on the 23rd)

Spring Break: April 11-18

Last Day: June 16 (tentative last day)
