DERBY, CT — A bagel shop in Derby, owned by a Ukrainian national and his American wife, is hosting a fundraiser Saturday to benefit the United Ukrainian American Relief Committee, Inc.

All of Saturday's proceeds from sales at A.M. Bagel, at 111 New Haven Ave., will go to help the relief organization, as the Russian invasion of Ukraine continues to rage through the eastern European country.

The shop will be selling specially made yellow and blue bagels for the occasion from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Myron still has family in Ukraine near the city of Ivano-Frankivsk, which is in the western part of the country, he told the Shelton Herald, and while they may be safe at the moment, their situation could change at anytime.

For those unable to make it on Saturday, donations will be accepted at www.uuarc.org.
