UPDATE: Police Identify Victim in Untimely Death Investigation
The victim was found deceased in a second floor home on Howe Avenue in Shelton.

UPDATE 9:10 p.m.: State Police have identified the victim as 46-year-old Richard Briereheck, of Shelton.
UPDATE 4:30 p.m.: The Connecticut State Police have released a statement saying State Police Detectives from Central District Major Crime Division have taken over the investigation.
Detectives have made a tentative identification of the victim but will not release the information until the next of kin is identified.

The medical examiner will conduct a post-mortem to determine the cause and manner of death.
UPDATE 2:50 p.m.: Police have not identified the deceased but said the victim is a male.

Shelton Police and the Connecticut State Police Major Crime Squad are on scene at 62 Howe Avenue investigating an untimely death.
The initial call was reported to police at approximately 6:45 a.m. Officers located the body of the victim on the second floor.
No further details are immediately available.
