Commodore Hull Thanksgiving 5K Road Closures

The annual Commodore Hull Thanksgiving Day 5K road race will take place in Shelton and Derby Nov. 26.

The race starts at 8 a.m. and takes runners from Canal Street, Cornell Street onto Howe Avenue and then Bridge Street, finally over the bridge into Derby with the same route set for the return.

Canal Street will close to traffic between Wharf Street and the end of the Farmers Market at 7 a.m. Cornell Street will close at 7:30 a.m.

Parking is not permitted on the northbound lane of Howe Avenue between Cornell Street and Bridge Street.

Howe Avenue will stay open to traffic but the northbound lane between Cornell Street and Bridge Street will be coned off for runners.

Bridge Street will be closed to traffic between Howe Avenue and Main Street in Derby for the duration of the race. Questions can be directed the police department’s traffic division at 203-924-1544 ext. 4417.
