Crews Extinguish Structure Fire At Multifamily Derby Home: FD
The Derby Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause of the blaze, according to fire officials.
DERBY, CT — Firefighters extinguished a structure fire that broke out early Tuesday morning at a multifamily home in Derby, according to fire officials.
In a news release posted to Facebook, fire officials said the fully involved structure fire was reported around 1:30 a.m. on Bank Street.
When crews arrived, heavy smoke could be seen coming from one side of the wood-framed multifamily home, fire officials said.

Firefighters extinguished part of the fire outside before moving inside the home to extinguish the rest of the blaze. Crews remained at the home after to check for hot spots, officials said.
Crews from Ansonia assisted Derby firefighters at the home while crews from the Orange and Shelton fire departments provided town coverage during the incident, officials said.
