CT Sons of the American Revolution sponsors Genealogy Workshop

The CT Society of the Sons of the American Revolution Gen. David Humphrey’s Branch is sponsoring a Genealogy Workshop at the Woodbridge Library on Saturday Oct 5, 2013 from 10:00 am to 2:00 PM.

Genealogy / family history is one of the most popular hobbies in the United States. This workshop will provide an overview of how genealogy works, and offer specific information on how to find information from the 18th century.

If you have some research that you have already started and need help, we will be reviewing and helping you get to the next step.Topics covered will include:  where to start, where to find information using multiple internet sites, and how to use censuses, military pension records, area research facilities, and a variety of tricks and tips.  This is a great opportunity to learn the “how to” or get advice from one of our more experienced researchers.  Materials will be provided to help start documenting your family history.

This event is free and open to the public.
