Family in government: My son work for the US Department of Defense
The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:
Shelton, The budgeting process is broken. The BOA have the fiscal oversight responsibility and simply approve what is presented. They do not dig into the actual costs of running the departments, and they do not set goals for the departments and do not hold the administration responsible when when they over spend or under spend.
Critical differences between me and my opponents:
I am an independent thinker and no yes man. My background is in science so I believe in data to support actions to be taken.
Accomplishments:
I think my four years on the BOE support my qualifications to be on the Board of Alderman. As a member of the BOE I worked with members of of the other party on the BOE and with the Republican leader of the Board of Alderman to reach mutual goals.
Other issues:
The actual cost of the City run student bus company must be determined before the City signs on for another three year contract. We need to document that either this service is saving the City taxpayers money and providing an adequate service and if not than the BOE should hire an outside private firm to provide the service.
What else would you like voters to know about you?
Small business co-owner, former Sunday school teacher and youth leader, and former scout leader.
